Hwa Rang

  • Named after Hwa-Rang Do Youth Group which originated in the Silla Dynasty in about 640 A.D.
  • The group was the actual driving force for the unification of the three Kingdoms of Korea.
  • Silla, the smallest Kingdom, was founded in 57 B.C.
  • Koguryo, the largest Kingdom, was founded in 37 B.C.
  • Baek Je, was founded in 18 B.C.
  • The 29 movements of the form refer to the 29^th Infantry Division of General Choi's army where Tai Kwon Do matured.
